how do i stop marker from bleeding through primer?

my brother drew on his bedroom wall about 6 years ago.

no one noticed because it was drawn in blue marker on a blue designed wall. Now I’m trying to repaint the room and the marker keeps bleeding through the primer, no matter now many layers I apply. can anyone help me?

Sand the area with a power orbital sander first, then apply the KILZ. After that, the paint should hold up.

Did you use a "stain blocking primer"? Kilz Original primer is a stain blocking primer as well as Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 . I have used both and they work well. But, don’t skimp when applying the primer.

Use a primer that is made for hiding that kind of issue like Kilz.

Did you ask at the paint store? I think you could sand it a little, then paint 2 coats of primer, and then the color. Have you considered painting it blue, or applying wallpaper?
